Armed with a degree in Ceramics, Ann-Marie spent the next few years running her own workshop, teaching Art and travelling extensively. She feels it was the luck of the Irish to have arrived in Barcelona a few years back. Passionate about guiding, she loves giving tourists insight into this wonderful city. Together with Gorka, she is the co-founder of Runner Bean Tours.

Originally from the North of Spain, Gorka arrived back to Barcelona with the new century after travelling half way around the globe. Nature photographer, mountain trekker and city walker, he fell in love with this place more than two decades ago. To him, unveiling its secrets to visitors is more a pleasure than a job. Together with Ann-Marie, he is the co-founder of Runner Bean Tours.

Born and bred in Barcelona, Tati’s curiosity for all that is new and different makes her the perfect tour guide. After studying Fine Arts in the city, she spent a few years in Asia and the middle East before coming back to her hometown. Her enthusiasm for her city is contagious and she is always looking forward to sharing it with others.

Dani has been working as a tour guide in Barcelona for a few years and he just can’t have enough. Big soccer fan and supporter of the local football team, he now lives with his wife and daughter at the heart of the old town. His passion for the city he grew up in is contagious so, be warned, you are in for a treat with him.

Having been born in the island of Mallorca, very near Barcelona, it is no surprise that Miguel is in love with the Mediterranean culture. He specialised in tourism and, after travelling around Europe, he decided to come back to his roots. When you don’t find him snorkelling or spearfishing you will have the pleasure of him showing you Barcelona’s treasures.

Lisa has been living in Barcelona and loving every minute of it for over a decade. Although trained in sociology, her career has moved since towards theatre, story telling and tour guiding, which she has been doing for years in Catalonia. Any questions about Gaudí, Modernisme, Montserrat and wine, Lisa is the person to ask. You will fall in love with her personality and charm as much as we did.

Gemma is a homegrown Barcelonan with an incessant hunger for learning. Having taught teenagers for a few years, she turned her sights to tour guiding. She is very interactive and loves pointing out small hidden details of the streets and sharing the unique Catalan culture and habits with visitors. You will adore her bubbly personality and easygoing nature.

After spending some time in Europe working in the film industry, Anna came back to her home town with the intention of showing its wonders to visitors. She ended up not only doing this but also training the staff at Sagrada Familia. If you are lucky to have her as your guide in Barcelona you will definitely fall in love with her bubbly and friendly personality.

Mari is a true local hailing from Barcelona. She has a deep interest in the Art and architecture of the city and is currently studying history of Art (something she has always longed to do). She absolutely loves her job of tour guiding and her very sweet personality immediately wins you over. You are in very capable and knowledgeable hands when on her tour.

Elisabet (or Eli as most of her friends call her) has been enjoying showing her city to visitors for a few years now and she never gets tired of it. She has worked and lived in all corners of the world, from Belgium to Tanzania, Turkey, Brasil or the US but she always ends up coming back. A never ending smile is just waiting for you in Barcelona.

Anna loves art and music. She studied the history of art and then fine art in college. She went on to work in London, Paris and Corsica. She landed back in Barcelona a few years back and felt tour guiding was her calling. Her favourite clients are kids, and she feels a special connection with them. Full of fun and adventure, you will have a great time with her.

Anna has been working as a tour guide in Barcelona for many years and she still can’t have enough of it. With a passion for art and history, her friendly and charming personality will captivate you since the minute you meet her. You can ask all about the city, its history, parks and restaurants and at the end of the tour you will feel you have a new friend in Barcelona.

Originally from a coastal town North of Barcelona, Laura has been a passionate about history, arts and languages since she remembers. She specialises in the Jewish heritage of Spain and the medieval history of Catalonia. With an infectious passion for her country, you couldn’t ask for better company while in the city.

The first thing you will notice about Maria is her warm smile. She was born in Italy and studied education and culture at university. Her style is friendly with an emphasis on society and everyday life  She lives in the beautiful city of Girona, so don’t be surprised if you have her wonderful company on our Girona and Dali tours.

Originally from the US, Katharyn has been living in Barcelona for many years and she is in love with it. Families with children keep on raving about her tours. She is a visual artist with a love of art, history, and culture, with an infectious smile and a gentle personality.  She can’t wait to meet you.

Fernando is a part-time artist who loves culture and the city. He studied the English language and was a teacher until he cast his sights on tour guiding. Obliging and polite, Fernando is a wonderful host and certainly open to a little bit of debate on his visits.

The perky Julie was originally born in a small village in France. With a passion for travel, she comes armed with a Master’s in tourism and culture. Her tours are delivered with a smile and a very personal touch. She is also great with children and teenagers, and you will also find her on our Kids and Family tours.

Xavier is a native of Barcelona and has a deep passion for its history. With a degree in History of Art, he went on to get a few more doctorates under his belt! When he is not teaching at his university, he can be found on the streets guiding interested visitors. With a kind heart and years of experience, you can dig very deep into the roots of his city with Xavier.

Ruth is a homegrown Barcelonian who has a passion for guiding and Art. Her first degree was in humanities but has branched out into tourism and has guided visitors across the globe. With bundles of energy and a chatty personality, Ruth is a pleasure to spend a morning or afternoon with!

Ivan was born in Venezuela and emigrated here with his family as a young child. Interested in the Arts, he went on to study graphic design and the history of Art. Naturally very social, it was an easy next step for him to bring his skills into the touring sector. He has worked all around Europe as a tour leader but feels his heart and home is here in Barcelona.

Originally from Extremadura, in Spain, Miguel felt the pull of the Mediterranean many years ago. His studies were in humanities, but he fell into tourism and enjoyed all aspects of the job. Now, you can find him guiding on the streets of Barcelona. Organised and kind, he will help the hours fly by.

Elena is our night guide and has a flair for the dramatic. Armed with a master’s in critical and creative writing, she came to Barcelona to study drama. She will take you on a dark road through the more obscure and sinister history of the city on our Dark Past Night Walking Tour.
